Eye and Mind

Laboratory for Visual and Multimodal Anthropology

Through audiovisual media such as film, photography, installations, podcasts, and video games, researchers and students at The Eye and Mind Laboratory for Visual and Multimodal Anthropology explore the interfaces and dialectics of human perception, emotion, and imagination. The Eye and Mind Laboratory serves as a meeting point at the intersection of academia, the arts, and the museum world. It is a collaborative space where anthropologists and scholars from related disciplines, filmmakers, photographers, artists, exhibition creators, and students come together to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and nurture the development of their projects and ideas.

The laboratory is affiliated with the Visual Anthropology Track in the Department of Anthropology at Aarhus University and is housed in the Moesgaard Museum, one of Denmark’s most renowned museums, dedicated to archaeology and ethnography.
