Blind Living

Description

“Blind Living” is a film about Poul, a 60 year old man, who has been blind most of his life. We follow him in daily activities, and give the viewer a chance to wonder about the significance of our senses in everyday life. Our question for making the film was: can methods of visual anthropology contribute to an understanding of living without the visual sense?

Biographies

Maja and Aurora met as students at the master’s degree in visual anthropology at Aarhus University. “Blind Living” is a result of our collaboration in the course Camera as Cultural Critique. Maja is from Denmark, and has a great interest in how art and anthropology interact. Aurora is Norwegian and she is interested in the senses, body and movement.
